Although Christmas shopping duties reduced the size of
the field this race, over a fast, although not flat, course the Surrey
Walking Club contingent packed well. In a competitive struggle the whole
way Paul King came out on top breaking away only in the last of the 8 laps
to match his recent Belgrave performance. Coming back carefully from
injury President Shaun Lightman will soon be inside the hour and
challenging the others once again.
