| A field rather reduced by the unfavourable weather and the usual season duties saw four Surrey Walking Club venturing across the Thames to Enfield for the regular 5 mile series. A cold day with rain before and after the event rendered this course especially unpleasant as all of the paths are lined by very nice trees but less nice wet leaves at this time of year. This certainly did not hinder Shaun Lightman who in line with recent, if a little inconsistent, form was well inside 9 minute mile pace and up to 6th place. He was less than two minutes behind Steven Crane who managed third this time while his dad, Peter, followed Shaun some way lower in position but again in line with his recent good form. |
