Cambridge Harriers League 5km, Bexley 21st Mar 09
This was the last of 2008-09 series and Surrey Walking Club had 7 out in spite of several missing names 3 of whom were at the roadside supporting the others. The weather was spring-like and hot for a short sharp event like this hilly 10km. The best of the Club was Andrew Statter doing another personal best to win the Under 13 boys 2.5km. Second SWC home in 9th in the main race was the welcome figure of Lyn Atterbury who traveled further than most as he is resident in Poland where race walking is much more popular. Lyn showed once again that he is still pretty fit finishing not far behind our first man Ian Statter. They were all some way behind the front of the field as this was filled with 3 juniors a very good sign for racewalking. Click here to see photos from the race
