| The outlook for Sunday was not good but, in comparison with last week’s similar event, in fact Ashford was very warm and dry. Times improved with the conditions and Surrey Walking Club’s only representative, Peter Hannell was a little faster than at Ewell. The first three positions were all M55, although not too close together in times, but the last from Ilford was in a tight race with Hannell with the lead changing several times before Sharpe got away on the last three quarters of a lap. |
