|This was the second 5km race of the Cambridge Harriers League for 2014/15 and a total of almost 30 walkers across the various age-groups represented a healthy turnout with over half representing the younger age-groups. Surrey Walking Club were a little under strength with only three out on this bright but cold afternoon with little wind. Overall performances were down in spite of the good racing conditions but this is not an easy course and competitors were well spread. The Martins were the first home with Malcolm in sixth, behind several youngsters, and Angela was in third place, both with times somewhat below par but in line with the reductions across the field. The exceptions were among the youngsters with personal bests as they enthusiastically pushed on up the long hill. David Hoben was just behind Angela this time with a poorer time but with the strict judging employed in this league his caution was justified and at least he got through safely.|
