Fred Pearce Relay 5km, Simister 28th Jul 18
Dan Maskell’s annual trip to Simister, near Manchester, for Lancashire Walking Club’s Fred Pearce Relays was met with strong winds and squally downpours – not infrequent conditions for the region. Still not at full fitness he was further down the field than usual with the conditions not favouring competitors who are not at full strength. Towards the front Tony Bell (Lancs WC) actually scored a personal best along with a couple of others. The popular and ubiquitous Martin Fisher (Redcar) won the race by only 7 seconds from Tony Malone of the host club.

1. M.Fisher (Redc M55) 28 min 41 sec; 2. T.Malone (Lancs WC M65) 28 min 48 sec; 3. A.Edwards (Lancs WC M55) 28 min 52 sec; 10. D.Maskell (Sy WC M70) 33 min 57 sec.
