Welcome to the Surrey Walking Club. The Club was originally formed in 1899 as a race walking club. We are still involved in race walking but we now promote a range of walking related activities including ultra distance walking and we have our own successful long distance social walking section known as the Strollers.

Next Club Stroll (Long Distance Walk)

 

Sunday 10 May.  Bishop’s Stortford to Epping (linear). Conductor: Dave Williams. Start Bishop’s Stortford station 09:48 (Liverpool Street 09:10). Regular return trains from Epping (Zone 6 on the Central Line).

 Route description: Leaving Bishop’s Stortford we follow the West Anglian Way along the Stort Navigation to Sawbridgeworth where there is a possibility for a morning coffee stop in the antiques centre before continuing along the Stort Navigation to Harlow where we pause for lunch. After lunch we skirt the environs of Harlow and continue along rural byways and the sublime Essex countryside to reach Epping and the end of the walk.
