Welcome to the Surrey Walking Club. The Club was originally formed in 1899 as a race walking club. We are still involved in race walking but we now promote a range of walking related activities including ultra distance walking and we have our own successful long distance social walking section known as the Strollers.

Saturday 29 April. A walk in the High Weald. Conductor Jerome Ripp Linear walk from Haywards Heath station. Start 9:00 (London Victoria 8:17) finishing at Balcombe, one station up the line. Likely return train 17.29.

 Route description: Undulating wooded countryside, valleys and rivers as we explore the area around Ardingly Reservoir and the Balcombe Viaduct. The lunch stop will be the Seed Café in Wakehurst Place Botanic gardens where light lunches and snacks are available. This area is National Trust but the café is open to all. However NT members should bring their membership card and there will be an optional tour of the gardens and adjacent woodland. Tea stop in Balcombe depending on time available.
