Welcome to the Surrey Walking Club. The Club was originally formed in 1899 as a race walking club. We are still involved in race walking but we now promote a range of walking related activities including ultra distance walking and we have our own successful long distance social walking section known as the Strollers.

 Saturday 24 June. Epsom Circular. Conductor: Lilian Chelli. Start Epsom station 09:27 (London Waterloo 08:54 or London Victoria 08:47, change Clapham Junction). Frequent return trains from Epsom.

 Route description: From Epsom we climb up to Epsom Downs, and cross the racecourse to reach Headley Church. Later we cross an attractive area of open downland known as Mickleham Gallops, before descending to Mickleham Village. Lunch is at the Racing Horses PH. In the afternoon we climb Box Hill, walk along the North Downs Way, and pass through the woods of Headley Heath. Tea is at the Grey Dove Village Café in Walton on the Hill. The evening section is mainly downhill along Ebbisham Lane and Chalk Lane.  There are regular trains back to central London.
