The next club race is the 5 km on 3rd Dec and the next club stroll is on Sunday 18th December with Dave Willliams as conductor

Welcome to the Surrey Walking Club. The Club was originally formed in 1899 as a race walking club. We are still involved in race walking but we now promote a range of walking related activities including ultra distance walking and we have our own successful long distance social walking section known as the Strollers.

Next Club Stroll (Long Distance Walk)

Sunday 18 December. Osterley to Hampton Court (linear).  Conductor Dave Williams. Start Osterley tube station (Piccadilly Line) 09:30. Return trains from Hampton Court (to London Waterloo) 05 and 35 minutes past the hour.

Route description: A linear walk to Hampton Court starting with a stroll through Osterley Park and then along the Grand Union Canal to Brentford, passing through Syon Park (possible morning coffee stop), then Isleworth and onto Richmond and then up into Richmond Park to take in the delightful views, weather permitting! We proceed through Richmond Park to emerge onto Ham Common and then along the river on into Kingston for an afternoon tea stop. After tea we saunter through Bushy Park to hopefully emerge at Hampton Court, where we proceed with an optional circuit of the maze (last one out buys the drinks!). Lunch TBA.

Approx. 17miles, but if lost in the maze a lot more!

P.S. Wearing of Santa outfit optional according to Dave!
