The next club race is the 4 miles on the 27th Sep and the next club stroll is on Sunday the 13th September to be led by Janette Henderson/Platt

Welcome to the Surrey Walking Club. The Club was originally formed in 1899 as a race walking club. We are still involved in race walking but we now promote a range of walking related activities including ultra distance walking and we have our own successful long distance social walking section known as the Strollers.

Next Club Stroll (Long Distance Walk)

Sunday 13 September.  Southease to Seaford (Linear). Conductor: Janette Henderson/Platt. Start Southease station 10:09 (London Victoria 08:47, change at Lewes).  Return trains from Seaford 27 and 57 minutes past the hour. Get return ticket to Seaford.  Route description: In the morning we take the South Downs Way to Alfriston for lunch (a few Bronze Age round barrows on the way and glorious views left and right), where there is a choice of pubs and teashops to suit most tastes.  After lunch we make our way via the Long Man of Wilmington and Friston Forest to Exceat for tea (again some lovely views, including a white horse carved into the hillside).  Our route then goes via Cuckmere Haven and over Seaford Head (great views of the Seven Sisters behind) before ending at Seaford station.
