Welcome to the Surrey Walking Club. The Club was originally formed in 1899 as a race walking club. We are still involved in race walking but we now promote a range of walking related activities including ultra distance walking and we have our own successful long distance social walking section known as the Strollers.

Next Club Stroll (Long Distance Walk)


Saturday 6 September. Coulsdon South circular. Conductor Lilian Chelli. Start Coulsdon South station at 09:30 (London Bridge 09:03). There are frequent return trains from Coulsdon South.

Route description: A stroll through unspoilt countryside close to central London. In the morning we walk through Happy Valley to Chaldon church. We then cross Alderstead Heath and walk through fields and woods to Mogador where we have lunch.  In the afternoon we cross Banstead Heath and walk through the Long Plantation and Banstead Wood to reach the tea stop in Banstead Village.  An undemanding route after tea returns us to Coulsdon South where there are frequent trains back to Central London.
