The next club race will be scheduled shortly and the next club stroll is on Sunday 22nd January with Kate Copleland as conductor

Welcome to the Surrey Walking Club. The Club was originally formed in 1899 as a race walking club. We are still involved in race walking but we now promote a range of walking related activities including ultra distance walking and we have our own successful long distance social walking section known as the Strollers.

Next Club Race

The next club race will be scheduled shortly.

Next Club Stroll (Long Distance Walk)

Sunday 22 January. Sunningdale to Staines (linear). Conductor: Kate Copeland. Start Sunningdale station at 09:31 (08:39 from London Waterloo, 08:49 from Clapham Junction). Buy a return to Sunningdale as Staines is on the same train line. Very frequent trains from Staines back to London.

Route description: This relatively mud-free and flat walk makes an ideal Winter outing. Our morning route takes us via Virginia Water, Valley Gardens, Windsor Deer Park and the Long Walk down into Windsor for lunch (10 miles). Numerous lunch options (including a Wetherspoon!). In the afternoon we walk along the Thames Path via Runnymede and into Staines where there is an optional tea stop.

Explorer 160. Distance approx. 18 miles.
