Welcome to the Surrey Walking Club. The Club was originally formed in 1899 as a race walking club. We are still involved in race walking but we now promote a range of walking related activities including ultra distance walking and we have our own successful long distance social walking section known as the Strollers.

Next Club Stroll (Long Distance Walk)


Sunday 12 April. Chingford to Manor Park (linear). Conductor Keith Lane. Start Chingford station at 09:44 (London Liverpool Street 09:18). Frequent return trains.

 Route description: The route in the morning transverses Pole Hill & Barn Hill to Enfield Lock then follows the Lea Navigation to Waltham Abbey. It continues across farmland to enter Epping Forest at High Beach & meanders through the forest to Queen Elizabeth's Hunting Lodge and tea at The Larder at Butler’s Retreat. After tea it continues through the forest along the Centenary Walk to Wanstead Flats & Manor Park Station.
